Writing and producing a horror film is a hard enough process in itself, as the majority of unknown yet still highly talented horror movie makers have found out.
But even if you get to make the film you want, with the cast you want, there’s still no guarantee you’ll get it distributed, even if it has won awards or got famous people attached.
For this reason, the majority of well-made films never see the light of day. It’s nothing to do with quality, either – a great deal of these movies have good budgets behind them, and are written and produced by talented filmmakers: Movies that have done everything right but which have not been selected in a viciously competitive and studio-influenced market. This is especially true of HORROR – a globally popular genre, where the releases are very limited.
How we select each month’s films
So, for the first time ever, we are able to bring you new and unreleased horror films, the likes of which you will never have seen. We scout the festivals and production companies for films that Hollywood is ignoring, then bring them to you, on DVD.
If you go to the cinema, it’ll cost two of you at least £25, once you’re there, including popcorn, of course! If you belong to an online dvd rental service, it’ll cost you around £15 a month, BUT YOU HAVE TO SEND THEM BACK.
We give you four films a month for just £9.97. And you keep them forever.
How it works
As a Member of Horror Cinema club, each month you'll receive a new DVD with four great horror movies that are absolutely not showing in any major cinema in the world, and usually never will be. The movies will be a mixture of full-length horror, shorts and documentaries, all handpicked for their horror factor, impact and film-making excellence.
