If your Horror Film is selected...
If we choose your film, we’ll license the non-exclusive, world-wide rights to your movie, as an official selection of HCC, and it will be mailed to our membership for one month exactly. You will receive a proportional share of 31% of the total royalties generated from that one issue, through subscription sales, and to be distributed amongst all four producers responsible for the four selected films.
The way each share of is worked out is simply based on the running time of each film in proportion to the total running time of the DVD.
For this example, we have four films totalling 180 minutes:
Film A |
90 mins |
= |
90/180 |
= |
15.50% |
Film B |
45 mins |
= |
45/180 |
= |
7.75% |
Film C |
30 mins |
= |
30/180 |
= |
5.20% |
Film D |
15 mins |
= |
15/180 |
= |
2.55% |
TOTAL |
180 mins |

180/180 |

31% |
And once the month-long mail out period is over, the DVD containing your film has the chance to move onto the HCC e-Store, unless you specify otherwise, where it will remain for sale for the duration of your agreed-upon term with the HCC. The agreement does not in any way relinquish you of ownership and control of your film; it simply states that your film will be showcased as part of a single month's DVD, and has the further option of being purchasable after this release.
That's all there is to it; complete ownership and rights remain with you. You are free to market your film elsewhere and sign other contracts which come up throughout the agreement period. If you have chosen to keep your movie on our e-stor, usually for a period of two years, then every time your Volume sells off the e-Store, you will continue to split 31% with the other rights holders in the Volume in the same way. These royalties are paid quarterly.
Remember, you are essentially being paid to showcase your movie to the world for a one month period! If someone wants to buy your movie from us during this initial period, we can't sell it to them, because we sell memberships, not movies. So it's great for your distributors and website too - they get free advertising!
We are not distributors, merely fans of horror who want to show the best off to the world.
If you’d like your horror film to be considered for the monthly showcase, email Dionne@horrorcinemaclub.co.uk for a submission form, then send this completed form plus a synopsis, with your film on DVD to:
HCC Producers, 212 Piccadilly, London W1V 9LD
Remember - you have nothing to lose; at the very least, you get paid to showcase your film to a worldwide audience!
